Hi,I'm Tory!

Namaste! My name is Tory Whitney. I’m a birth educator, full-spectrum doula, and Newborn Care Specialist (NCS) providing overnight newborn care and parent/sleep coaching.

(I get it—being a new parent comes with a whole range of feelings, from joy to stress. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone. I’m here to offer balance, comfort, and the support you deserve.)

My work supports families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period using mindfulness-based, neuroscience-informed practices that promote emotional regulation, confidence, and nervous-system balance for both parents and babies. I’m grateful to be in this space and look forward to connecting with you all.

My Journey to Becoming a Birth Worker

"I was drawn to becoming a birth doula and newborn care specialist because I saw firsthand the difference that informed, loving support can make. Having gone through birth myself four times and experiencing how essential knowledge, rest, and support are, I realized that a little help goes a long way during this vulnerable phase."

Experience & Credentials

I bring over seven years of experience as a birth doula and newborn care specialist, along with more than 30 years in childcare. I am trained in Gentle Birth, DONA International birth doula support, newborn care and parent coaching, and life coaching. I have successfully supported healthy sleep for babies of all ages for many years. Having attended over 150 births and postpartum periods, I offer steady, knowledgeable care so families can feel supported, confident, and at ease during this tender season.

I am also completing a PhD in metaphysics, blending research and practice to bring mindfulness, emotional regulation, and energy-awareness into my support for families.

What Sets Me Apart

"What sets me apart is my commitment to you. You’re not just another client—you’re a parent who deserves to feel confident, heard, and cared for. I tailor my support to your unique needs, whether it’s breastfeeding guidance, emotional well-being, or adjusting to a new family dynamic."

My Approach

"I don’t just focus on baby care; I take a holistic approach that includes nurturing you, the parent. Motherhood is not a solo act—it takes a supportive community, and I aim help create as well as become a meaningful part of yours."

"Your story is unique, and so are your needs. Whether you’re a first-time parent or welcoming another bundle of joy, I adapt my support to fit your family, your values, and your lifestyle."

"Life doesn’t operate on a 9-to-5 schedule—especially with a new baby. That’s why I offer daytime, overnight, and virtual support to meet you where you are."
