What a Wake Window Really Is
A wake window represents the amount of time your baby can comfortably stay awake before their body needs support returning to rest.
It’s not about flexibility or pushing limits. It’s about preventing overtiredness.
When a baby stays awake longer than their system can tolerate, stress hormones rise.
That’s when we see:
Short naps
Fighting sleep
False starts at bedtime

Why “Stretching” Wake Windows Backfires
